Snapshots Of History

An event so historic should be preserved forever. This page on Crucians In Focus is dedicated to all of those who planned, attended, wanted to attend and otherwise supported the “Unity, Accountability and Social Justice” March and Rally where history was made in the Virgin Islands on May 15, 2010.

Gene Ford is a host on WSTA on tues and thurs night. And there is NO WAY he supports de Jongh. Maybe Addie Ottely does but NOT Gene. And Addie cannot tell Gene what to do. Gene will never stand for that!

  2. Anonymous on May 20, 2010 at 2:12 pm

Does Gene Ford own WSTA now?

  3. Anonymous on May 20, 2010 at 3:23 pm

Gene can not and will not be bought. He is a man for the people.

Unless he owns the station someone has to sign his check therefore he will be put “in check”. Watch, listen and learn.

I will listen to Gene tonight to see if there is any truth to what you say. Not everyone is afraid of de Jongh or is willing to be paid off to shut up.

Our healing begins. Those of us who support the unity of our islands must support those who have been/are stepping out into truth. There are more of us than the hand full of those holding the reins of power. They cannot fire every one. We must put our ego (earth guide only) on the side so we can work together to create the kind of Virgin Islands where things can be seen as being done in the best interest of the masses.

Gather around people who have shown honesty and the willingness to put their own personal agendas aside and continue work on the Virgin Islands agenda. We can do it. Our ancestors survived their hard journey to bring forth the fruits of justice, but the only way for this to happen is in our unity of single-mindedness. We were born for now. This our destiny to challenge the status quo. This time will not come again.

Did anyone read The Letter To The Editor on Saturday June 5,2010 St.Croix Avis???? Some Marcus Garvey from St.Thomas wrote it, he is talking very negative about THE UNITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE MARCH… Does this man has any idea who is Marcus Garvey and what he did? What we did on May 15 is the same thing Marcus Garvey was fighting for… How can you identify yourself as MARCUS GARVEY when you are standing up your rights or children rights? The Virgin Islands is US Territory therefore in case you wasn’t aware of it WE have freedom of EXPRESSION and freedom of SPEECH… That is the BEAUTY of OUR VIRGIN ISLANDS we can freely… We did not disrespect the Governor or the Senators, we simply said the truth and demonstrated it by taking a stand which WE are FREE to do! You said you saw the look of sadness and desperation on our faces “DUH,” that was the purpose of the MARCH… We are hurting and we are tired of sitting around and see OUR islands go down the drain because of our greedy heartless so called leaders!!!! If you want to be a puppet on a string be our guest, but we had enough… We were a lot more than 600 and we might be RADICALS, radicals that want to protect our childrens future ON OUR VIRGIN ISLANDS…… OH, one more thing our symbol wasn’t a skull, did u see t-shirts or banners with skulls? The casket had a skull, what would my head become when I die? the casket read “DEATH TO -GREED-CORRUPTION-CRONYISM & COMPLACENCY- NOT OUR CHILDREN…” And whatever Recan was showing in front his children was not wrong… I admire him 100% for letting his children be part of THEIR future!!!! You see that is the problem people like you want to live in some little glass bubble!!!! You know what is so sad that we are brave to take a stand and you know who will be the first to bennifit from our fight YOU AND YOURS…

Please, I’m begging the Freedom Fighters to continue in this fight. This should not be a one time thing, I feel we should do this for a whole week during this summer and throughout the rest of the year.

Those who are discontent will find solace when the truth set them free. DeGreat rules! We will put him back in office. May deGreat force be with you!

For those of you who participated in this march, congratulations! You are a part of history. Your prize? Your future; taken back from the mis-leaders!

    Wow

  12. Realistic one on October 9, 2010 at 11:50 am

WOW? This all for nothing because they didn’t vote in the primary and is allowing Dejongh to continue his dismantling of these Islands.

  13. T on October 9, 2010 at 2:27 pm

The problem is that some people like to bash the governor and some of our senators, but they turn around and vote for the same people they attack. This is exactly why these politicians don’t take us seriously.

  14. Anonymous on October 9, 2010 at 6:34 pm

What is considered bashing? Pointing out truths?

  15. Anonymous on October 9, 2010 at 6:39 pm

Especially now that it is evident that our voting/election process is/has been flawed.

  16. Anonymous on October 9, 2010 at 8:35 pm

    flawed?

    Flawed, refer to the following
    http://cruciansinfocus.com/2010/09/14/how-do-we-avoid-an-instant-replay-of-primarys-process-failures-in-general-election/
How can an election be certified with all the discrepencies? Even if there was only one complaint. If people have been using the option of the provisionsal/paper ballot all these years, why the sudden move to force the use of the electronic “shuptronic” machines?

  20. Anonymous on October 10, 2010 at 1:11 pm

The Turnbull endorsement means nothing but an endorsement to continue a certain type of life style while serving in government house. The public will not buy this one. Spin again.
