It appears that before there was an $85,000 Guardhouse and a $98,000 Security Fence, there was a $156,000 driveway laid at Governor John P. deJongh, Jr.’s personal residence.
Yes, we are serious.
The attached documents show that in October, 2007, Darryl Smalls, then Commissioner Designee of the Department of Public Works, gave the notice to proceed on the driveway project to the Better Roads and Asphalt Company of St. Thomas.
Cost of this project? Reportedly, $156,160 of local and federal Highway Funds. Read the rest of this entry »

We’re going to get right to the point on this proposed 2010 fiscal year budget.
What’s good for the goose should be good for the Governor, the Legislature, and the exempt government employees.
In times of crisis, great statesmen lead by example. That’s a lesson apparently unlearned by those who have created this budget. Read the rest of this entry »

These are the filthy bathrooms at St. Croix Central High School, shown in photos taken within the past three days. Participants in the recent All-Star Basketball tournament held here were forced to use these facilities – that is after they spent their time in the gymnasium dodging the rats. Government House continues political hires
ST. THOMAS – Senator Adlah “Foncie” Donastorg said Friday that Government House continues politically driven hiring despite a year-long “hiring freeze” and at the expense of less well connected Virgin Islanders.
Earlier this week Donastorg obtained documentation from the Department of Agriculture indicating that two individuals were laid off from the Department late last year in order to bring in a new employee at $70,000 annually. Read the rest of this entry »

It is two months shy of two (2) years since Modification of Child Support has been sought for on the AG’s last child. The AG has not responded to any correspondence. Though the Governor knows about this, nothing has been done. Instead of replying, the AG is seeking credit for a child who is past twenty two (22) years old.
The Director of PSCD has done nothing but sit in her office though she was the one who called the AG about the Modification. He told her he did not want a hearing; it is now obvious why he did not want a hearing. Read the rest of this entry »
