It’s Decision Time

November 4, 2012

Senate Candidate Michael J. Springer, Jr.

The countdown clock on this page signifies more than the hours and minutes left until the November 6 election.

It’s counting down the time you have left to decide whether our future begins here and now – or whether we’ll make the critical mistake of prolonging the visible failures our recent past.

There’s no mystery here. I am asking for your vote. I am asking for an opportunity to be part of that future because I, like you, have seen all too clearly what will prevail if we preserve the status quo.

Over the past few months and truly, the past few years, I have made clear through my activism and through this website that my mission is to see that those who are elected honor the mandate to protect and preserve the public interest. That mission will only intensify if I am given the chance to be an elected official who understands and embraces that mandate.

It is not a complicated mandate. Identify the needs, assess the alternatives and promote the actions that are in the public interest. Whether the topic is energy or crime, education or commerce, agriculture or the economy, the formula is the same.

Leadership with guts. Leadership with commitment. Leadership with the dedication of one who always has, and always will call the Virgin Islands home and has a vested interest in seeing it become all that it once was, and all that it can be.

And when all the signs come down, and the airwaves are no longer congested with jingles and promises, what we are left with is the reality of our situation. And that reality is what I would like an opportunity to change.

And how would I do that? You will never wonder where I stand on an issue or how I would approach a solution. The specifics on how I would address the major issues we face are all posted on my position page (link attached below.) But beyond the plans and the proposals, I would bring the one thing that has been sorely lacking in our approach to all the ills that plague us.

Leadership.

Leadership with guts. Leadership with commitment. Leadership with the dedication of one who always has, and will always call the Virgin Islands home and has a vested interest in seeing it become all that it once was, and all that it can be.

Now is the time to give new leaders a chance. And I am asking for your vote so that I can be one of them.

That countdown clock is ticking.

Don’t let our time run out.

I am asking that you choose me, Michael J. Springer, Jr.,  by voting for #6 on November 6.

    Say what?

If you are referring to yesterday’s 7.54 am post by ‘Outta deh Box’ who agrees seats should be ‘buckled for this ride’ (the economic nightmare we’ll
be facing in the next four years),then I can assure you I am not that person.
    So,wheel and come again.
