Outcome Of Board Of Elections Hearing Will Tell More Than Their Position On Hansen Eligibility

November 1, 2011

On Wednesday November 2, the St. Croix District Board of Elections is scheduled to address the complaint filed by Crucians In Focus concerning the eligibility of Alicia Hansen for candidacy for public office.

In the time since the complaint was filed, this site has been filled with opinions on whether the premise we put forward, which is that her probationary status at the time of the election made her unqualified to vote and therefore unqualified to run, is valid.

The airwaves have been filled with debate on both sides of the issue. The Supervisor of Elections has voiced his opinion through the newspaper. And this activity tells us only one thing – there are some who are highly motivated to put this issue to bed.

We are choosing not to speculate on the activities that will take place in Wednesday’s meeting. We have stated our position as we read the law, and we stand behind it. We are pleased it was so quickly placed on the agenda (even if it currently is the last item) because now we will hear officially where they stand on this critical issue.

If they decide the rationale in our complaint is valid, then action to remove the questioned candidate should proceed immediately, and serious evaluation of the process that allowed her to run in the first place should occur.

If they decide that her candidacy is valid, then we will know that the organization tasked with seeing that those who are elected to uphold the law are fit to serve believe that a known breaker of the law, who is still in a probationary status, can be an effective representative of us as a people.

We caution the Board to be mindful of the message they choose to send.

Be assured, the people will hear it.

The criminal network will be closely watched. Chucky will have her spies planted. Let them have fun. Who will help Mr. P pay his legal fees? Sen. Russell says these crooks aren’t getting a dime from the Legislature!

So Follow the Money is this hint, hint for a government shut down of the 1620 fun day event. I don’t think that would be the crowd for deCrook’s henchmen to do something like that! If this is the case it has been a widely advertised event and they should have advised the 1620 gang do not proceed unless all the proper permitting was in place, if this is the case. To do it at the day of the event will be suicidal in my opinion…. But that is only my opinion.

People give Chucky the Crook to much credit. This woman is a nobody who wilfully and intentionally did not pay her debt to society in the form of failing to file her income taxes for three consecutive years, of which is a requirement by law of every law abiding tax paying citizen. She did this while being an elected official of the Legislature, a sitting Senator, of which an Honorable mention was placed before her name.

A Senator responsible for making laws in the territory became the law breaker of the laws. Now if that is not a crime of Moral Turpitude then please kill me! The nerve of some people that will continue to defend this disgusting and vile act. Morality???? Do some of you even now what the hell that means!! Geezumbread.

Chucky is a Senator, but you morons are nothing. Your definitions have no value. The 8,000+ who voted the Senator respect & love her. You can’t remove her office! We will make her #1 in 2012.

blah, blah blah…she has no shame. What she has to say about the 8% salary reduction and her failure on LEAC. blah, blah blah

How many elected officials have you heard embrace election reforms issues? So then you are saying these people are following the wishes of those that voted for them and are now the very same affected by recent policies such as the 8% cuts, LEAC, etc.?

Hurricane Chucky now upgraded to a category 5!

Hurricane season ends on Nov 30 though so be careful.

Th voters here do not listen to reason or measure the character of the candidates. They only look at their wallets, LEAC bills, and executive promises of exempt jobs. They look at exacting revenge on governors who deprived them by punishing enablers. As long as the LEAC plummets, people get back the 8% and actually get their raises, and get their retro Chucky is back in for 2012. What we say on this site doesn’t matter. LEAC and money is how Chucky won, and that will decide her reelection and maybe her current fate. Nothing personal.
