RETREAT!
Gov. deJongh fled from the stage at the St. Croix Educational Complex Friday in the face of a hostile audience of teachers who heckled him into silence.
We’ve all heard him say these words before, but never, never like this.

St. Croix Teachers who had gathered at the Educational Complex for a Development Day on Friday had no time for Governor John P. deJongh, Jr.’s platitudes, and he was forced to leave the stage after being heckled into submission by the unhappy throng.
Apparently, in an effort to finish his speech, DeJongh ask Rosa Soto Thomas, the First Vice President of the American Federation of Teachers, to control her members. Thomas declined.

And just in case the Good Governor wanted any more input into how she thought he should solve the fiscal crisis, she added:

Let’s listen to that clip again and this time, listen for the near hysteria in the voice of the man who maybe, just maybe, got a tiny little clue today of the degree of contempt and disgust he engenders in this community.

Can you imagine the fury running through his mind at the thought that anyone would dare to treat him in this way?
But this is a man who rules through retribution – and one can only imagine the retaliatory plots being hatched down in Frenchtown tonight.
The events at the Complex today should send a message that pierces the arrogant armor of even this Governor.
It’s getting hot in here.
(Note: The link below is to a video of a man riding a scooter in front of the stage while deJongh attempted to speak. The quality is TERRIBLE but if you look closely, you’ll get the idea! And we thank the CIF fan who sent it!)Â

Crucians will not pull you out of this one, Class Ha what a joke.
schools and teachers are just a symptom, our kids know there are no jobs and little money for universitys, they know that teachers and schools cant discipline them, they know that theres no one at home because mom and dada both work to pay the bills, they know no one can make them do anything.teachers know this too they know that they are baby sitters, mouthing words and facts that are going to leave there students unprepared to compeate with the world. if we had one chineese school here on island and required every kid to spend one year going to it, you would see a change so quick you would ask why they are not all that way.in china school is a privedge not a right.
teachers in china all work for the state they make just a little more than the adverage chinese they are punnished if they do not produce results, they are not fired they are punnished 1 or two weeks in a summer work camp seems to motivate them, kids that dont respect the priveledige are sent to work camps and they stay there for life.
I agree with the governor. This plan will help the kids especially elementary age children. Make the teachers accountable. No raise without shown improvement. Fire those that we know are no good immediately. I have to agree with the governor. This plan simulates Obama’s plan and it will make our schools creditable because it’s a requirement of the US Department of Education. If you don’t oblige to this plan you are not getting your credentials.
The governors plan will save our school systems credentials that allow our kids to go on to college.
HA! TOLD YOU JUSTAMAZED WAS A WOLVERINE! FIRST, SHE COMES ON HERE TALKING THAT DONNA WILL BE THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR NOW SHE IS SUPPORTING DECROOK DEJONGH!
@ Just amazed or anyone else who cares to answer. What are the top two “plans” or initiatives that John De Jongh has implemented since taking office, and has turned out to be highly successful?
You wol-verines in the house tonight can take a crack at it also.
I am supporting an educational plan for our children. Does that make me a wolverine. Small mind my friend. I still support Donna for Governor!!! I also support our school age children.
JustAmazed is Verdel!!!
Now do you understand how pointless calling out can be?
@ Anon 10:21 I don’t know of any successful initiative the governor has successfully accomplished and that could be because his bad decisions have overshadowed them. Really I can’t really tell all but his attempt to not send that so called constitution to Obama. But on this issue I agree with his plan and hopes it works out for the children. This plan is not his the Governor is using a plan already in place for all US school systems. This is an Obama plan that I fully agree with.
This plan is really needed here. It will get our children taught in the subject areas that are currently flawed.
Stuck please don’t try to teach me a lesson. I am not at all affected.
Hey, anyone noticed that the Government channel been showing the AFT St. Thomas meeting. I assume the St. Croix meeting aint going to be aired. Then Addie Ottley aired the Governors portion of the STT speech this morning. What gets to me is that they always trying to act as though things are going fine. This place is a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In these times to HELL with class it’s about RESPECT, LOVE, and PRIDE for our Territory and it’s people!!!! But if you look back where Budhoe live, Queen Mary, and D.Hamilton Jackson??? ST. CROIX!!!! Therefore that is showing us all that most Tomians have always been cowards!!!!! Crucians have always stood up…..
Budhoe was a Trinidadan, Queen Mary an antiquan what is the point?
lol deleated
St,Croix and its people, many from other culture’s and islands has a long and proud history of rising up against injustice with one unified voice. You will always find those that would rather divide these great people and seek to muddy the waters and yes even DELETE the rich history of our ancestor’s. Beware of these evil people with forked tongues that come before you with ill intent.
Paul, your lol is disappointing. You yourself blog here with what I believe is a purpose of moving forward for the bettet of the People no matter where those People are from. You yourself want change, though you are not from here. Why would you find it an “lol” moment when you are in fact no different from those who came before, from where ever, just like you have done?
I did not expect your lol.
@ Stuck
Don’t worry with Paul.Chances are he doesn’t know a t’ing about Budhoe and Queen Mary.Just flappin’ his gumbs.Gi’ he line.
