Breaking News: Reported Bomb Threat At WTJX Studios Delays Debates

People planning to attend the Gubernatorial debate at WTJX studios wait outside as police investigate a reported bomb threat.
(Update: The debates have begun after a 35 minute delay to investigate the reported bomb threat.)
CIF President Michael Springer has just reported that the area around the WTJX TV Studio is cordoned off by police after a reported bomb threat was received at the station where the Gubernatorial debates were scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
There are no details at this time about the manner in which the alleged threat was received or any other information about the situation or its potential impact on the scheduled debates.
Springer said that police have closed the road around the studio and that approximately 30 people are waiting across the street near the Post Office waiting for more information. Springer said candidates Sen. Adlah “Foncie” Donastorg and James “Jimmy” O’Bryan were at the scene when he arrived.
At approximately 7 p.m. Police instructed everyone in the area to turn off their cellphones.
We will keep you updated on this story as it develops. It is not known at this time whether the debates will proceed.
We will keep this comment thread open – if anyone has additional information please feel free to post.
Be careful everyone!

Be kind! Francis is actually a functional illiterate!
Foncie and Baptiste all de way .. I was considering Luz , but I have to do the right thing .
I just sent this email to dejongh:
Mr. deJongh, you have let us down.
You have caused many ills in our community, and you take no responsibility for those ills.
I thought you would be the first governor to lose control of the police department, which is still likely to happen, but now I know that you will be the first incumbent democrat to lose a re-election. You should have listened to the people instead of buying people. Shame on you!
Think I’ll get an answer?
Well it started with a bomb threat but it turned out fairly well. We’ll digest the information and post an update in the morning.
Thank you again for participating in the real time chat.

thanks Michael Springer!
This election is so important, like no other election I have ever experienced ( even as a delegate for Jesse Jackson), so thatnks
ok, last comment/question for the night:
dejongh has undivided attention on his channel, ch 6tv. IF the other candidates were given an equal opportunity, time and subject, would they be able to connive the People as well?
So biased, but then again, the governor “owns” the propaganda & the channels he wishes to put it on.
I still don’t know who to vote for, but I do know who I am casting my vote against.
Leave Francis alone. The man does not even know what street justice is. What did you expect him to say. He likens street justice to ice cream cones from the ice cream van being sold on the streets. Poor fellow, yet they are airing Ads calling Foncie Duncie. Who is the real dunce.
In this debate Glen could have sent his shirt, Pamela her dress and Baptiste his trousers and they would all make Francis look dumb. They did not have to show up to debate him. He was there in the flesh but not in the brain Cheryl was at home waxing it for him.
Pam Richards was the best out of everyone including the gubernatorial candidates.
Dont mess with Greg,he was the best in the debate…..ha, ha not even myself believe that..
@Krista
You know you go for Mapp…..and maybe you can work ‘along side’ Frankie again girlfriend!
Last night, the governor seemed ragged.
He did not even get a hair cut or at least a shape-up, which he knows very well is important for TV appearances.
While sitting next to Donastorg, deJongh’s posture seemed to buckle.
DeJongh looked least physically fit for the job!
Donastorg appeared the “Conquering Lion” while deJongh appeared a “Pawing Pussy Cat.”
A Wolf, not!
Donastorg appeared the “Conquering Lion” while deJongh appeared a “Conered Mouse.”
A Wolf, not!
Donastorg appeared the “Conquering Lion” while deJongh appeared a “Cornered Mouse.”
A Wolf, not!
DeMouse will not escape the “Lion’s Grip.”
If deJongh is a reader of Machiavelli’s The Prince, why did I not see “the strength of the lion to fight off the pack nor the cunning of the fox to discern traps?”
A student of Machiavelli ? I think, you are Not!
The only “Machiavellian Move” or “Machination” deJongh has left on the “Political Chess Board” is to steal the Election.
Yes! to steal; to steal; to steal the election!
Keep your Eyes on deWolf!
For the Lt. Governor, almost all the candidates do very well in answering their questions. Even Glen Smith and Ms. Richards-Samuel impressed me. As for Gregory Francis, his response and body language gave me the impression that he didn’t take this forum seriously. It’s like he believes he already won.
Now for the Guberatorial candidates. Senator Donastorg handles himself very well with his appearance and his answers. Luz did a lot better in the forum than I expected him to do. Jimmy O appeared lost and unprepared at times, but by the end of the forum, he finished strong. As for john deJongh, he appeared nervous. Although his delivery was eloquent, he didn’t give direct answers to the questions he was given. Was the moderator started giving the questions the viewers sent by the Internet, the incumbent really stumbled towards the end. Overall, the forum was very good. The candidates give some very interesting answers to the questions, and all the people who participated in the event conducted themselves as professionals. When we go to the polls on Saturday, we need to meditate on the answers given at the forum and to vote accordingly.
Jamila,
Shame on you for mentioning on the air (1620) three times yesterday that you were going to vote early because you expected a “bomb threat”. This is totally irresponsible to suggest a self fulfilling suggestion as you did and the WTJX was a trial run. Can you at least understand what your suggestion might have created. Mr. P could very well lose his FCC license on 1620 for such a stunt.
At times it seems as if Jamila’s mouth is working faster than her brains.
If she thought she was being cute by making that alleged statement over the airwaves at a place where she is employed, then it could well backfire with her being dismissed from her job.
Jamila should try boarding an airliner and, just to be cute, mention
she expects a ‘bomb threat’ on that flight.
