Cleanup Starts After Hurricane Earl; Fiona Still Tropical Storm
Hurricane Earl moved past the Territory Monday leaving damaged power lines, blocked roads, flooding and some structural damage and we now await new information on Tropical Storm Fiona, the next disturbance looming in the Atlantic.
So far, no deaths or serious injuries have been reported as a result of the storm.
The islands avoided a direct hit from the powerful Category 4 storm, which was packing 135 MPH winds as it passed to our northeast.
As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, Fiona was still classified as a tropical storm, with winds around 45 miles an hour, and was located about 440 miles east of the Virgin Islands, moving West/Northwest.
Forecasters were uncertain Tuesday whether Fiona would strengthen or remain a tropical storm due to wind shear from the remnants of Hurricane Earl.
As of 11 a.m. today, the Henry Rohlsen airport on St. Croix had reopened and the Cyril E. King airport on St. Thomas was expected to reopen by noon. Ferry service had not resumed at the time of this report.
We will update as more information becomes available, meanwhile, if you have fotos or other information, please post your information here or send photos to Admin@cruciansinfocus.com and we will post them as soon as we can.
Stay safe everyone.

Where is your proof? Do you have documentation you can share with us? Fact based proof with specifics?
What I see is a hard working woman who is against crime no matter who commits it.
Whose interests would Judi pursue?
Whose agenda would she be concerned?
Certainly not the locals. Certainly not ours!
Any candidate who has an issue with the local population using the beach strip in F’sted from the Market to the Pool, can’t get our votes.
Any candidate who has an issue with the local population playing calypso and reggae music on the weekend on the beach strip in F’sted from the Market to the Pool, can’t get our votes.
Any candidate who has an issue with the local population being too close to hotel guests on the beach strip in F’sted from the Market to the Pool, can’t get our votes.
Any candidate who has an issue with the local population parking their vehicles close to the beach strip to get to the beaches in F’sted from the Market to the Pool, can’t get our votes.
Any candidate who supports “Tourists-Use Beach Only” on any part of the beach strip in F’sted from the Market to the Pool, can’t get our votes.
Judi, can’t get our votes!
Let the candidate bashing begin. Where can I verify this candidate opposes this or is it just hearsay?
E@Usoundschupid
You sound absolutely stupid as well. The word is “hear”, not “hair”. Before we go on blast calling others names, at least make sure you’re smart enough to spell what you meant correctly.
The phrase used was “Hide nor Hair”.. catch up on your Chaucer dummy! I learned that in Claude o Markoe! Now UlookSchupid!!!
I don’t believe I have heard Judi Fricks say any of what is being posted here. She has done nothing to the community here but bring us Crime Stoppers and assist with the crime problems we have had here.
I guess we need to have a debate scheduled to hear her issues beyond Crime Stoppers………..She has done so much for the community and it hurts to have some say otherwise. The message she is racist in any way is a blatant lie. She is pro-community in every sense of the word. She also volunteers for many non-profits.
What have you done Anon @5:06 to make our islands better that you can critisize someone who has made a diffrence without collecting a salary?
Again, where is the proof, Anon…….you can post and post but at the end of the day if you can’t backup what you say you are slandering a good person who deserves a chance to be a senator.
C,mon!Anon @5:06 Thats not even good slander…Mediocre at best.In fact, i think You straight up lyin on deh woman right now! Provide evidence to these statements please! You cant just create a mock platform and expect every fish to swallow the bait. Plus all your measures would require repealing sections of the Organic Act, and why would any first time candidate want to come out the gate and seek local votes with such a decisive stance?
Back it up or stop lying.
‘Usound’@ 12.05 p.m.:
If I’m reading the second part of your last paragraph correctly, shouldn’t that be ‘with such a divisive stand’?
…or ‘stance’?
friends who knows judy frisk says she is just like rodger morgen she think she know how to save people but she really just want to make friends with the famus. I no vote for she do not impres me
Duly noted’ Soldier Crab.
GO! RONNIE JONES, GO!!!!
I just got off the phone with Hugo Hodge, and have had some clarification on the WAPA issue of the outrageous reconnect fee.
WAPA does not set it: PSC does.
Want to lower some WAPA fees?, then I suggest we vote out this governor who has appointed these PSC people who demonstrate no concern for the people who need it.
Hello everyone in st Croix: What a joy it is to have one of my daughters as a canidate for senator. Your vote for her would be one of the wises things that you have ever done. Haven’t you seen her hard work and diligence she has devoted to Crime Stoppers? Well, that was even without a pay check! Can you imagine what it will be like as senator of beautiful St. Croix WITH a pay check. I know her heart and soul, she will look out for YOUR best interest. She will go down in the history of the Virgin Islands as one of the very best senators. God bless you all down there.See you soon. Sincerely, Pastor Wade Johnson

@Pastor,
Why would you include your full name and not even mention you daughter’s full name. If she’s running for senate, isn’t name recognition important to you? Or will the term “crimestoppers” sufficient to stand alone? Sounds suspicious to me….
I don’t know anything about Judy Fricks and am not voting for her. But in regards to the music/noise from Market to Pool issue, I suggest you ask our Crucian matriarch, Delta Dorsch how horrific the inappropriate lyrics that blares from those beach parties can be. It’s not reggae and calypso with that foolish gangsta rap and hip hop with crude lyrics
and it’s mind-numbing bass. Her neice, Claire Roker, was on the radio this summer stating that people would no longer be able to use their strip of land along the beach for parties without permission first. We spoil things for ourselves. Can’t blame others for our idiotic actions.
