There was a surprise guest at Thursday’s debates after all.
And Sen. Adlah “Foncie” Donastorg had the perfect welcome for him.
The empty chair next to candidate James “Jimmy” O’Bryan was a conspicuous reminder that one candidate, the incumbent John P. deJongh, Jr., didn’t bother to show for the public forum. (Nice touch, by the way, leaving the empty chair on stage.)

About halfway through the session, as Donastorg approached the mike to answer a question, a commotion came over the crowd when a huge rat took the stage with the debaters.
And just to show that he’s got wit as well as political savvy, Donastorg stepped into the fray.

Thats the SAME jingle I was talking about last week. When I said what exactly are we Thanking “Governor” dejongh for? Now come to find out that song wasnt even written FOR dejongh. It was written for calypso tent. Furthermore, the MOTHER of the girl that sang that song said she NEVER gave permission to the governor to use her child in that ad. She said they werent asked and they werent givin anything for using it. dejongh is pulling for anything to BiG Up himself. Even the use of innocent children to promote himself. Oh, and ontop of the fact that the mother said she WOULDNT have given the okay to use her daughter for the promotion of governor.
Boy oh’ Boy dejongh putting people in things they dont even ask to be in. This so called “governor” has GOT TO GO come Sept.11th!!!

Funny how after all this time none of the STX stations (particularly 1620) are back up on the internet. STX was not as badly hit as STT, yet the only reception I can get is that annoying WSTA.
Anybody else having any better luck? I feel really cut off from the relevant info. Primary’s only about a week away and they’re saying Gaston is set to hit Wednesday or Thursday.

I myself here in STT have clear internet reception. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe another dejongh infiltrate! LoL But really.. I have no idea because I can hear 1620 loud and clear since this morning. Maybe it should pick up soon. Hopefully!

I was able to pick up Mario on 1620 yesterday when he was speaking of the court’s decision re Adelbert Bryan’s petition.But all I’m getting today is music and advertisments.
Like you,I’m getting really concerned about the upcoming primary and of what the conditions may be like on the 11th if Gaston makes an unwelcome visit.

How are things going on St.Thomas as far as cleaning up? And what side of the island do you live and what damage was done in your area?
We need to be optimistic. Gaston is hundreds of miles from any land mass, so it’s too soon to predict where to will go. It might not even come anywhere near the Virgin Islands.

From what I gather the judge has ruled the petition should have been filed in V.I.Superior Court and Bert was moving to have that done.

Does anybody knows when WTJX will have a new date for the guberatorial debates at their studios? I was looking for it tonight, but they aired Face to Face instead.

Bert refiled the papers in superior court and got a hearing date for tuesday 10 am. Wapa is busting there hides to get the electric back on. They should not have had to work this hard if the right preparations were made prior. If trees were trimmed from around the lines, we would not be in such bad shape. There is still debre everywhere and they say they are working to get to it. When you drive around you see these private contractors working slow as heck just to milk the hours for little or no work. This whole thing was/is a mess, this administration really dropped the ball picked it up and kicked it out the stadium. The public was miss informed and the aftermath wapa has hardly any help and the “regular” men are working themselves to the bone while the fat rats Dewolf/Hugo sit pretty with there generators.
