How Dare You Mario Moorhead? God Bless You Mario Moorhead!
"The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" - Gil Scott Heron
How dare you, Mario Moorhead?
How dare you propose to use the system to your advantage and register to vote in the upcoming primary election as a Democrat? How dare you attach your name, your image, your power and your standing in the community to the most significant and historical political movement in Virgin Islands History – the strategic use of the electoral system to depose Gov. John P. deJongh, Jr.?
Just look at how your actions are upsetting people! Didn’t you hear Mrs. Jeris Browne last week denounce you harshly on her radio program en Espanol? Didn’t you say that her vicious attack made you a new “anus?” Didn’t your actions drive her to call you (and that other provocateur) Lawrence “Recon” Olive murderers?
What in the world makes you think you are worthy to join the ranks of those such as Mrs. Browne? Don’t you know who she is?
She is the mother of convicted murderer Jeffrey Browne, who awaits sentencing on 11 counts after a killing spree on Christmas Day, 2007.
She is the wife of Bureau of Motor Vehicles Director Jeris Browne who, with Lt. Governor Gregory Francis was reported to be at the Herbert Grigg Nursing Home on St. Croix last week “assisting” the elderly residents to register for provisional ballots for the primary.
(“Lord have mercy,” a Grigg employee who witnessed the “registration” effort told CIF, “they so desperate they in here telling these old people they have to vote for deJongh.”)
And you, Mr. Moorhead, think you, and others like you, have the right to make sure that you, and those who follow you, become members of the Democratic Party to return the government of the Virgin Islands to the people- all of the people – and not just the chosen few?
You’re damn right you do. And so do the hundreds and perhaps thousands of others who are filing into the Board of Elections offices across the Territory – some for the very first time – to make sure their voices are heard on September 11 and beyond.

Six members of the St. Croix board of Elections occupied this tent on the grounds of the Hovensa Refinery last week at a registration event.
It is a sign of the power of the movement that sharp criticism is being leveled at those who are finally realizing that the power of numbers trumps the power of money and privilege. It is a sign of the power of the movement that while St. Croix residents have struggled to gain the cooperation of the Board of Elections to sponsor registration drives during large public events, that this same board would host an all-day registration event, complete with six of the seven local board members, in a Hovensa Parking lot last week – during working hours on a weekday – to allow a controlled segment of the population access to the process.
However, in positive contrast, long lines of new voters were reported at the “Expo” held by the Board of Elections on St. Thomas on Saturday. Participants reported that people waited happily for long hours in the hot sun to register for the Democratic Party.
But the work is not done. For the more than 6,000 voters whose names have been removed from the rolls, time is running out. The deadline to register to vote in this all important primary is Wednesday, August 11.
For the first time in Virgin Islands history, a sitting governor is being challenged in his party primary. We will know for sure by 5 p.m. Tuesday just how many challengers will be in the race. And while the high-priced dinners and cocktail parties have continued, with an apparent ignorance of the movement growing around them, a quiet determined revolution is happening. And, in the words of the great Gil Scott Heron – The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. (clip below)
So to Mrs. Browne and those like her spewing venom at those who are taking their rightful place in the process we say “la gente en casas de cristal no debe tirar piedras.”*
And to the standard bearer who perhaps better than anyone exemplifies the energy of empowerment, we say,
“God Bless You Mario Moorhead!”
*”People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.”

Herb has been gone from CIF for more than a month. It seems as if the money de Jongh has offered has gotten larger. Huh Herb Boy?
Backpedaling, Herb? “National Democrats”? Is that supposed to exonerate you from your endorsement of this local thief, John deJongh? We will in our complaint copy your blogs to the RNC. See how they repudiate you once they seeyou praised slavers. Can you spell Breitbart? And throwing deJongh’s appendage, Donna Diageo under the bus won’t work. You deserve to be stripped of your leadership position. The complaint is in the mail. Goodnight, sweet prince……
The deJongh regime is so separate to win this election they are trying to get the Transient votes at Hovensa and the elderly votes at Herbert Grigg Home.
Have you no shame?
So Herb, you still don’t know of any ‘crimes’ of which your governor is guilty of? And you think if he recuses himself from the run off in the primary, that will assure him victory in the general?
Man,you gotta be kidding me as all that will do is,as others have said, delay the inevitable.
To those who are fighting for CHANGE,harken to the advice given by the ‘Clock’ and beware of ‘complacency’ as there is much work to be done in the coming weeks and months ahead.
A wounded animal is a dangerous animal.
Mr Moorehead is participating in a movement that will help us get rid of this current PSC. 7 of the 11 members are appointed by the governor, the other two are senators appointed by the senate president.
Yes, we can change this too. The PSC does not appear to be representing the people, that’s just wrong.
GO, MARIO, GO!!!!!
WAT AH JOKE: I’M GETTING THIS RIGHT OR I’M DREAMING.ISN’T THIS LADY MRS.JERIS BROWME THE MOTHER OF JEFFREY BROWNE,THE CORRUPT X POLICEMAN THAT INSTED OF SPENDING CHRISTMAS EVE WITH HIS FAMILY OR BEEN OUT THERE PROTECTING US THE COMMUNITY ON CHRISTMAS EVE DECIDED TO GO IN A KILLING SPREE WITH HIS BROTHER INLAW THEN TRYED TO USE HIS SO CALL WIFE AS AN ALIBI.ISN’T THIS THE SON OF MR.JERIS BROWNE FROM THE M V B AND RESTORE HOPE WHO IS IN FULL SUPPORT OF THIS CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION.HOW DEAR CAN SHE HAVE THE GUTS TO ATTACK MY BELOVED MARIO MOORHEAD FOR USING THE SYSTEM TO OUR ADVANTAGE.JEFFREY BROWME WAS FOUND GUILTY SENCE LAST YEAR AND HAS NOT BEEN SENTENCE AS YET.I GUEST THEY ARE HOPEING FOR JOHN THE WOLF TO WIN THIS ELECTION SO THAT HE COULD BE PARDON BY OUR DICTATOR JOHN THE WOLF.LORD SEND HELP.(YESTERDAY IS TO LATE)
maybe it is not carol burke who son got arrested too.
Mario moorehead Vs Third circuit Court 1972 look on the web it’s no lie.
HOW MUCH DID YOU GET BELOVED? WAS IT MORE THAN $490.00?
Money will not win this election. One one exempt jobs will not win this election. Reprisals will not win this election. Paying retro won’t do it; they will cash their checks and vote you out. Going house to house will not do it. Our light bills are too high.
People of the VI Kenneth Mapp saw the errors in the Diageo Steal before it was voted into law. Ken Mapp started fixing up F’sted while DeJongh said that it was money wasted and stopped the building of the new stadium. But cruise ships are pulling up to the dock that Mapp built and unloading passengers into taxi vans.
If elected Kenneth Mapp will revamp Wapa to use coal burners at 10 percent of the cost of oil.
He will close failing schools and bring magnet programs and charter schools even if the government has to run it themselves.
I’m a Mapp supporter, but absolutely NOT in favor of our government running charter schools. Look how wonderfully well we run these that we have now.
Coal is dirty, dirty, dirty.
Why do Kenneth Mapp continue to come on to this website to praise himself? History is about to be made, a tyrant is about to be removed, a people is about to be freed, but yet no word of encouragement from Kenneth Mapp to the people.
All that we continue to hear is how much Kenneth Mapp is in love with himself. Kenneth don’t you have any shame man? Don’t you think we’re going to remember how you turned your back on us AGAIN in time of a need for UNITY?
What is your problem Kenneth? Is your ego so big that you forget the people or say to hell with us? Kenneth, you got a problem and don’t have much time to fix it. The registration doors closes tomorrow and so far you have done nothing to help we the people rid our selves of de Jongh in the primary.
Kenneth, you’re either with us or against us. Which is it? The registration doors will close on us tomorrow and we will also close our doors on you tomorrow for your repeated selfishness.
Are you with us Kenneth?
Ignore Mapp, dog done dead for him when he selected SECKO. Mapp wash up like a old wash rag.
Does Mapp even know who the voters are?
What part of Green Energy does coal play into?
Hindsight is 20/20. So what if he claims he saw the errors in Diageo, is that supposed to get him the nomination because he has 20/20 vision? What did he do about it? Did he even speak up?
Mapp fixed-up Frederiksted, yes, but at what cost to us? How much did he go over-budget??? And, those taxi vans that pull up to the pier, where do they whisk people off to, and in what manner?
No thanks, Mapp doesn’t deserve the job. He’s too self-involved and patting his own back.
Give Jack his Jacket. Mapp did speak out against Diageo.
Can we vote Luz Browne Jackass of the Week? She is a well deserving candidate who holds a do-nothing job in Lottery collecting $60k a year.
Mrs Browne, stop now before all your history comes out.
When the Guvenar win by a big margin, will the discontent bow to the will of the people? Or will they continue to think they know what best for us and we all a bunch of dummies?
Did you mean to say, “when the governor loses by a humiliating margin”?
People, listen to me.
I am not being political, I am being real.
A lot of people are now turned off by the governor.
The people don’t want to see him or hear him speak anymore.
That’s the truth, Ruth.
