Domestic Violence Charges Leveled Against Sen. Donastorg

Defense Atty. Rohn says accuser has already recanted; says she was offered cash to make false charges

By now you know that on Thursday afternoon, Sen. Adlah “Foncie” Donastorg turned himself into Frederiksted police after being charged with domestic violence by the Virgin Islands Justice Department.

The charges stem from an alleged incident in January involving a 19-year-old St. Thomas woman who, oddly enough, was not identified. The specific charges are one count of assault in the third degree, under the V.I. domestic violence statute; one count of aggravated assault and battery; one count of brandishing a deadly weapon (firearm); and one count of using a dangerous weapon (firearm) in the commission of a crime of violence.

Donastorg’s Attorney Lee Rohn called the Justice Department’s insistence on pressing the charges a “travesty” and said the alleged victim has already admitted the charges are false and that she was offered cash to make them.

Rohn said that Donastorg felt “persecuted,”  believes that the motivation for the charges is political and that he intends to fight the charges and bring to justice those involved in this episode.

If even half of the evidence outlined here exists, this incident represents a new low even for this Executive crew. And while we’ve come to expect anything but integrity from this Governor, the possibility that the Justice Department, particularly in the face of so much reported evidence to the contrary, would continue with the charges, should make all of us stop and think.

This is what conspiracy looks like.

There are at least two sides to every story. And eventually, the truth will be told. We can’t begin to predict what the outcome will be but we are anxious to here the Government’s side of this story. There must be something significant that would cause these charges to be filed in the face of what appears to be a pile of exculpatory evidence. Otherwise, the public trust in the judiciary will take yet another hit – a hit it can ill afford in the current climate. So we shall see.

This was not entirely unexpected. The buildup to this action was foretold in a piece some days ago on demmansay.com.

There will be much more to come on this story. We will watch this justice system take its course.

In the meantime, consider this.

In the movie “The Godfather,” Michael Corleone arranges for the slaughter of his enemies while he is standing as godfather at his nephew’s baptism ceremony in a New York church.

Enjoy your cruise, Governor deJongh.

I’m definitely convinced…some of the people that post on here are really sick! It’s sick that this website blatantly supports Foncie and/or Mapp. It’s clear this website is NOT committed to fair and honest journalism. If one takes a moment to read the posts and articles on this website, its easy to see why we can’t get clean, honest public servants. Because we glorify the likes of a womanizing senator who boasts extramarital affairs and children likes its his job.

    CIF…stop perpetuating the cycle!

  3. Anonymous on March 10, 2010 at 10:36 pm

If my husband was womanizing I would not appreciate it, but that’s a private matter and no one else need worry about it.

However it’s a public matter when you use a half million of our tax dollars to enrich yourself and then are too arrogant to even admit that you made a mistake.

CIF exists because other media is too biased to report the truth and the truth is that the Governor is the one that should be in front of a judge. We should be watching his mug shot in the paper.

  4. It is so sad but true! on March 10, 2010 at 11:12 pm

@ Stt fo sho: Its not only Donastorg having extra martial affairs. It’s our Good Governor Dejongh, Sen White, Sen Hill, Sen Roosevelt David and the list goes on. They just wanted to bring Donastorg down but there are other ways of doing it. They could of gotten to the issues going on in the islands.

  5. SHOCK on March 11, 2010 at 8:30 am

@Anonymous being an admirer or saying i will date him is not what exactly happened to the girl as she claimed. First, I am NOT 19years old,(so therefore the Media wont big such a big issueK). Second, I am NOT accusing Donastorg on anything that did not exist, because I am mentally stable. So please bear in mind, that this excessive media coverage didnot just appear because someone admired a man. It’s deeper than just thoughts. Actions was put into perspective, but I would not elaborate because I am NOT against Senator Donastorg and knows that he is innocent of ALL accusations. They can keep printing his picture in the papers because I am getting to see his beautiful face more. lol (I had to laugh sorry)

  6. SHOCK on March 11, 2010 at 8:35 am

@STT I thought the same thing before about the sight only having posting from Mapp & Donastorg supporters, but its a public forum and anyone can type and express themselves. I donot think that CIF is bias. Maybe the Gov. supporters choose not to voice their opinions on issues. I have seen prior topics whereas the Gov supporters replied, but I guess not this one.

I am sorry for the release of information prior to it being confirmed. However, I heard the reason of $150,000 being the purpose behind her claim but no one makes a claim of this nature wihtout knowing something about the person. She and Mr. D had a realtionship and in the end she wanted more he refused; she decided to make an issue out of it and was later told by someone to drop it to avoid bring shame to someone highly respectful in the community. I think he had a sexual realtionship with her; he never thought it would come out in public and when it was happening he tried to keep it quite but couldn’t I do beleive the goal of the young lady attorney was to minimize the damage as much as possible.

I NOTICE THE DEAFENING SILENCE IN REGARDS TO THE BACK UP AND REVERSE COMING FROM THE ATTORNEY FOR MS. K.E. NOW THEY SAYING THAT THEIR STATEMENTS WERE MIS INTERPRETED AND THAT NO ONE WAS OFFERED MONEY. CIF, WHERE THE F#$% IS THE STORY ON THAT ONE?

  9. T on March 11, 2010 at 10:19 am

Even if the allegations against Sen. Donastorg appears to be false, the fact that he may have been involved with this girl possibly when she was in high school puts his credibility in question. Do we really want to vote for Donastorg just to oust John deJongh? How do know he is even considering running for governor again after everything that has happenned the past week? We don’t even know for sure how the outcome in this case will be. The problems we have right now, we truly can’t afford anymore controversy.

Did you also note that they have postponed the hearing that was supposed to be today because the prosecution needs “more time to investigate.”

They didn’t need more time last week when they forced these so called charges they had since January to investigate so now they need more time.

I’ll just bet they do need more time.

What aren’t you asking about that?

    The truth will out.

From The Bourne Law Office, PLLC

My client wishes to correct your interpretation of a portion of her statement in the story run by you in your 9 March 2010 issue in which you state that Ms. K.E. stated that Leslie Comissiong “proffered $150,000 to her”.

Specifically, Laverne Campbell, who is a man and not a woman, stated that there were people who would pay her at least $150,000. Although present, Ms. Comissiong said nothing. My client did not take this as an offer but as a statement that there were persons who would be willing to pay such sums to bring down Senator Donastorg.

At no time did anyone actually offer her money.

CRUCIANS IN F&%KING FOCUS SINCE YOU WON’T RUN IT….

The joke of a Daily News and stupid Source makes no difference. The girlsaid their was no relaionship, the majority of the people believe that Donastorg was set-up by the deJongh Administration, the charges are all false.

Donastorg will declare his candidacy and destroy dejongh in the Primary. Call me psychic. I’m willing to take bets on my prediction. Any wagers?

    Can someone please tell me;

    1. If no crime was committed, why did KE go to the police in the first place?

    2. Did this alleged incident take place this year or two years ago when the alleged victim (KE) was a minor?

  14. Anonymous on March 14, 2010 at 8:19 am

Her name is printed in the Source. The news on the grapevine bulletin is that she is connected with several other politicians and is known for her expertise in a certain matter. Since my comments will not be printed, I will not say anything further.Read between the lines and keep what you hear on the grapevine to yourselves. The truth will soon be out. The investigation being conducted is to gather the facts and make sure that the government wins its case. She should have kept her mouth shut!A slip of the tongue, flips ships! Throwing her a life-preserve is too late. They are all drowning in lies including the attorneys.

  15. Rules of the Road on March 14, 2010 at 10:40 am

    to Ms. KE,

Since the word on the street is that you’re a semi-pro at this, I’m surprised you forgot some of the basic rules of your line of work.

    1. Never ever go to his house. This is basic and a lesson you should have learned at the beginning of your career.
    2. You will never trump the spouse – never. No way you were ever gonna be on the podium with him anywhere. Just doesn’t happen.
    3. Keep your mouth shut. You see what happens when you get all vexed and talk about it – especially to a “girlfriend”?
    4. The “wounded victim” act won’t get you anywhere. As a friend of mine once said “you knew the job was dangerous when you took it.”

So just keep these tips in mind for your next project. It will probably have to be off island though because once you violate the “no talking” rule, future clients will be wary of your services.

Hope this helps. Good luck. You’re gonna need it.

  16. Anonymous on March 14, 2010 at 11:31 am

Wow! The deWolf Administration used KE to lie and set-up Donastorg and now they are classifying her as a prostitute! Tis good for her. She should have never trusted the deWolf gang in the first place. They used her and are now set on abusing her.

They try to ruin Foncie’s name but they have no case. Now they are going to beat up on the girl becaause she finally told the truth.

The person referred to as K.E. actually needs protection not from Donastorg, but from De Jongh’s people.

We can not deny that the real threat against her is from the administration!

For her protection, she was smart enough to obtain an attorney to protect her against THIER ABUSE.

This nastiness is happening in broad day-light right in front of our faces.

We can not deny THIS THRUTH!

    Hypocrites and their conspiracies!
