Kenneth Mapp and about 300 avid supporters made a dramatic entrance through the front gate of the St. Croix Agriculture and Food Fair Saturday and their message to the large crowd assembled was clear.

“We Can Do Better,” gubernatorial candidate Mapp’s campaign slogan, was emblazoned on the royal blue wave of t-shirts worn by the group.

Mapp and his supporters mingled throughout the large crowd attending the fair and “the energy is high,” one supporter said. “The slogan says it all – we are tired of this current administration and we can do better.”

Mapp has not yet announced a running mate.

We have been forgiven of this loan, Poor mismanagement of government funds is why where in this financial predicament.

    FEMA forgives Marilyn loan

The territory secured some financial breathing room in October when the Federal Emergency Management Agency forgave a $185 million loan granted in the wake of Hurricane Marilyn in 1995.

The move reduced the government’s debt load by 20 percent and will help improve the territory’s bond rating. An improved bond rating – a reflection of the government’s financial health – means the territory could borrow money at lower interest rates, reducing the amount of taxpayer dollars that would have to be spent servicing interest on debt.

Yearly payments on the debt would have been approximately $22 million annually for a period of 10 years, or more than 3 percent of the territory’s $607 million budget for FY 2005.

The FEMA cancellation of the Marilyn loan follows a similar cancellation of a $46 million Hurricane Hugo loan at the end of 2001.

Way to go don’t let them keep us in mental bondage anymore. Thak God for computer’s we can do our proper research. People Google information for yourself. No longer are we going to be lead blindly. The opposition is handcuffed by technology and we going to use it to our advantage. They are stumped and we going to challenge every thing with facts.

BE AWARE OF THE GOSSIP AND INNUENDO’S. WE KNOW BETTER NOW DON’T FALL INTO THERE MENTAL TRAPS. GOOGLE GOOGLE AND ASK QUESTIONS.

That’s why so much misinformation is out there about the Constitution. Read for yourself stop listen to the bias.

Let’s shoot for a record of 5,000 blogs to this post. If you print all that is said of Mapp you’ll get there. He is not very important since this is the only place people talk about him.Add this post: Mapp is a loser and a liar. He cannot find a running mate because no person wants to be linked with this character whose agenda is unclear.

You do realize that Anonymous April 5th 4:29 threw the first stone . This triggered the response you received from Anonymous 4:50 pm. Many times in life we throw fairness and balance out the window when it’s not to our advantage or cause.

    @ Ginger:

How many people lost their properties due to the loans that were given to repair their homes? Only enough money was given to begin repairs, but never make the homes livable. Who owns those homes now?

Just because you or I can find anything on the IGDOJ website, doesn’t mean there hasn’t been hanky-panky going on: Mapp just hasn’t been caught yet IF there is soemthing he should be caught at.

We seem to be in a new time, a “new day” one might say. A day where we just have no desire to sit back and wait for false promises and false hope. If Mapp cared so much for the VI, where in the world has he been since he lost the last election? Best I can tell is Florida, and that means NOT HERE working to better our territory. Just because DeJongh is a piece of work doesn’t mean I am ready to vote for another false person just to get DeJongh out.

PLEASE! Where is a REAL viable candidate???
