Crime Stoppers Seeks Community’s Help
Crime Stoppers is asking your help to solve the following crimes. Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve these cases.
St. Croix: On Thursday January 21, near the Seaplane parking area, a couple was robbed of their jewelry, cash, and other valuables. The masked and armed robbers were males in their teens or early twenties. Please help police identify and apprehend these perpetrators before someone gets hurt or killed.
St. John: Police are requesting your assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for a rash of burglaries of homes and villas across St. John. Items stolen included money, iPods, and laptop computers. The minimum reward for the arrest of a burglar suspect is $714.
St. Thomas: Police are requesting your assistance in identifying the killer or killers of Elliot Hodge Jr. who died of multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Hodge was shot on Saturday January 16 at about 8:37 p.m. in the area of Kirwan Terrace. The minimum reward for the arrest of a homicide suspect is $1250.
Community members can submit tips to Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). The tips are completely anonymous, and the stateside operators are bilingual. Tipsters can also submit tips online at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by texting “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). If a tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs, or weapons, the tipster receives a cash reward to be paid according to their instructions. Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.
