What Do You Want To Hear From Governor deJongh Tonight?
It may well be the most anticipated State of The Territory Address in Virgin Islands history.
When Governor John P. deJongh, Jr., takes the podium Monday night, under the shadow of the Inspector General’s report on “Mafoliegate,” the eyes and ears of the Territory and beyond will be focused on him and every word will be heard and analyzed for days to come.
We’d like to know what you want to know from the Governor tonight. What topics should he cover? What issues should he address, and what questions would you ask about how we as Virgin Islanders move forward from here?
The floor is yours.

Is it me or does anyone else feel shafted by what we heard tonight? It didn’t even address the real problems in the territory. It was too general, all fluff and no stuff.
It’s not just you. I especially did not appreciate the childish ending to his speech. What is he, twelve?
The governor seems to think that he can bail out his sinking boat by using buckets of retro…
Hey, CIF, I was wondering. Does anybody have copies of the previous State of the Territory addresses that the governor made the past three years? We can try comparing them to the most recent one that was made last night. We can see how much progress was truly made in the 3 1/2 years John deJongh has been in office. That way, we can use this as a tool later this year.
@T – The previous addresses are posted at http://www.governordejongh.com/sott/index.html
Thanks, CIF.
suggested poll question: Should Sen. Nelson run for governor?
he could but i dont know how well he will do ,it will be between Donastorg and Mapp .
Nelson should definitely run. Donastorg has no chance amongst my friends and the ppl I speak to here in STT. And Mapp is probaly one of the most unpopuar ppl in STT as a candidate. If mapp is running then he has alot of work to do in stt. STX will not carry him alone as we saw in 2006. The same is most likely true of donastorg in stx. But for rite now I know that mapp is running. Saw a “MAPP” campiagn banners up during STX adult parade. Donastorg is running too most likely. He went to an event in Atlanta that endorsed him as “The Next Governor of the US Virgin Islands”. I believe it was called “VI Reunio” So there u have it ppl. Let the horses begin. And in the end of it all like de Jongh said, we ultimately need to stay “Together for Tomorrow” to make it through these hard times.
I am very proud of what Governor de Jongh has managed to do. So much has changed since the days of schneider and Turnbull. Much hope to look for. “Together for Tomorrow” de Jongh Francis 2010. His speech was compelling and inspiring for future hope and prosperity in the VI. Thank you Governor de Jongh and Lt. Gov Francis! You haves lived up to your words.
Sheila, you say; we say.

We say, “Together for Tomorrow” Donastorg or Mapp 2010.”
You say, “His speech was compelling and inspiring…”
We say, ” the IG report was compelling and inspiring…”
You say. “Thank you Governor de Jongh and Lt. Gov Francis!”
