What Did You Think Of The Governor’s Address?

January 25, 2010
     Gov. John P. deJongh, Jr.

Gov. John P. deJongh, Jr.

In his hour long State of the Territory address, Governor John P. deJongh, Jr., recited an extensive list of achievements and planned progress. He covered all the expected areas, including crime; the financial state of the Territory; economic development, specifically the Diageo, Cruzan and Alpine projects;  the environment; agriculture; and tourism.

What he did not discuss was the report from the Inspector General on the Mafoliegate issue.

We have posted the speech below. We’d like to know what you think.

From “All we want is John” to “Anyone but John”. I wonder what campaign message he will used this time.

Didn’t you guys hear it on Monday? It’s–Together for Tomorrow!

  6. EyesWideOpen2010! on January 29, 2010 at 7:02 pm

The administration has got to be joking:
from “Together We Can!” to “Together for Tomorrow!”

I will repeated what someone has already posted:
“Fool Me Once, Shame on You!” but “Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me!”

    No Way!
    No How!
    No More Four-Years!

Mr. Chair, I rise to offer the following amendment:
I offer the following amendment to drop the suffix “ed” from the word,”repeat” in my last post.

deGreat has announced that he is running again. What is the IG waiting for? The report did not produced the desired outcome. deGreat has not resigned, will not do so and will not be charged. Unless he is assassinated or killed in an accident, deGreat will be in the race again. If he is not charged before November, what will you say?

  9. T on January 30, 2010 at 9:12 pm

Well, anonymouse, if the Inspector General does not deal with the governor before September/November, we the voters will. Mark my word! We’re as mad as hell, and we’re not going take this anymore!

  10. Persona Non Grata on January 31, 2010 at 7:10 am

    Why wait ’til November????

    Ha! ha! ha! ha!

Lots of mouth and no action. Empty barrels make the most noise.

Where were the protesters during the speech? You are all cowards and can not do anything but hurl insults. Words can not harm the Governor.

  12. The Queen on January 31, 2010 at 2:41 pm

No we can’t, not until we vote him out, but the Fed’s can and will!

  13. Bishop on January 31, 2010 at 2:49 pm

When? The FEDS do not run the VI Government, but deGreat will call the FEDS to quell any mob that is out of control. You can only make empty threats. deGreat still rules!

If the US IG repost is so weak, then why are the Verdell’s of the world calling every radio talk-show begging everybody to support Governor deGreat?

  15. Anonymous on February 1, 2010 at 9:00 am

Perhaps, she wants to educate the public. What is wrong with that? Someone must tell the truth and let the public be aware of lies and misinformation.

  16. Anonymous on February 1, 2010 at 9:48 am

And you’re the judge of that, Verdell?

  17. Anonymous on February 1, 2010 at 9:55 am

I think the public should be writing letters and calling the IG’s office to let them know that we, the public, do not condone, accept or appreciate what took place at Mafoliegate.

  18. Sensibility on February 1, 2010 at 5:46 pm

Good Idea. I will get my letter drafted tonight and hope others should follow-up in support.
