Security for Whom?
With record levels of homicides gripping the territory, and a growing number of people expressing outrage and fear for their safety, we were alarmed to discover that Governor deJongh has stepped up security…for himself.

Security for whom?

Jobs for St. Croix. deWolf must come up with “plenty” jobs for the big island. These are new campaigners to “stop the bleeding” of votes lost here.
I wonder if these security guards came from the VIPD. I recall during the campaign how deJongh blasted Mapp and Donastorg for accepting security while the department was stretched thin. Why does Government House need more security? Was the frivolous AK47/AR15 bill by Sammy “Blegojovich” Sanes written to make the Governor feel a little safer? It’s a shame he can’t spend a night in the homes of those in the community who jump to their floors when they hear the rattle of an AK47.
First, we are playing the “All We Want is John” ad, and now this. Next thing, CIF will probably post the “Roll with John” commercial.
On a serious note, in that campaign ad, Then-Candidate John deJongh made promises to combat crime by solving most of our unsolved mysteries, and hiring more police officers. Three years laters, the Virgin Islands are projected to having the highest homicide rate of the all times, and like somebody posted earlier, the police department have about 200 vacancies that have yet to be filled. Meanwhile, the governor is spending gov’t money “upgrading” security as his house, and a lot of people who helped campaign for him getting paid big money for their services. Where are the priorities fo our leaders?!!!
