Senator’s Tirade Gives Governor An Out
It was a costly lapse in judgment.
During Tuesday’s Finance Department hearing, Sen. Terrance “Positive” Nelson verbally attacked the finance team for testimony he felt was inaccurate and evasive.

As a result, Governor John P. deJongh, Jr. issued a statement today authorizing representatives of his Administration to walk out of hearings if they feel they are being similarly abused.
We have said it before – public officials have an obligation to lead by example and the Senator’s outburst was grossly inappropriate. A budget hearing is not the forum to introduce personal comments and the Senator should have known better. How can we preach to our children that rational discussion is the way to conflict resolution when this is the example they see? There is no defense.
But the most unfortunate outcome is that the reaction to the outburst has clouded the issue that triggered it in the first place. We are not going to allow this to deflect us from the real issue at hand.
The Finance Team was evasive and defensive in its answers to the Senate. Financial obligations that have been presented by this Administration as part of the budget deficit in the past are now “grey areas.” Information that should have been on hand was unavailable. Nearly every response was delivered in dismissive and patronizing tone of voice and very few questions were answered directly.
And then to top it off, they asked for another $100 million to operate in 2010.
And this is the issue that brings the Governor out of hiding – how convenient. Just at the time when it is more critical than every that Administration representatives be held accountable for actions on many fronts, he issues a statement that gives them his authority to walk out when they feel the heat is too high. It will be the new “Fifth Amendment” for these officials, who will feel free to say “I decline to answer based on the Authorization of the Governor” before they walk out of a hearing.
After months of deafening silence on critical issues he rises up in defense of his chosen people and sends the message that he will block any effort to get to the heart of issues that strike at the heart of the deceptive practices that are being revealed about this Administration’s operation.
It’s just one more obstacle on the path of “transparency” this Administration spoke so passionately about in its quest to be elected. And if we could rewrite history, here’s the only statement the Senator would have made.

MOUTH WITHOUT A MUZZLE,NO OTHER THAN VERDELL PETERSON.
Comment moderated by Administrator.
I think “Mouth without a Muzzle” is funny.
Mouth without a Muzzle,
In your #89 post, you referred to what has been said of the governor as “garbage.”
I have five questions for you:
1. Is it garbage that the governor has used “public funds” to enhance his “private residence?”
2. Is it garbage that the feds are “investigating the governor” regarding his use of “public money” for improvement to his “private residence?”
3. Is it garbage that the governor has hired a person with a “criminal past” as his “Chief Financial Policy Advisor?”
4. Is it garbage that the governor “gave away the shop” with his overly generous benefits to “Captain Morgan?”
5. Is it garbage that the governor was “less than transparent” when he did not reveal his Tax Returns as Mapp and Donastorg had done?
The only garbage is what you posted!
EyesWideOpen, excellent way to put it in perspective.
Corrections:
In my previous post, I mistakenly cited post #89; I actually meant POST #97.
You are mentally disturbed. The governor has no time to read the nonsense that is posted on this site. This site focuses on trying to discredit those who are positively influencing others. You are envious of the governor. As predicted, I knew you would respond. What is enlightening about the information on CIF? Besides bashing influential personalities, what is the purpose of this site? It is amusing, but definitely not enlightening. And you wonder why the people did not elect you to serve in the Senate.
THE DE JONGH ADMINISTRATION IS A LAME DUCK THAT DID NOT HAVE THE COURAGE TO WALK OUT ON THE LEGISLATIVE HEARING. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN A VOTE FOR SENATE PRESIDENT HILL TO ADMINISTER THE OATH TO THE DE JONGH ADMINISTRATION FINANCIAL TEAM. SENATOR HILL VOTED “NO” TO ADMINISTER THE OATH TO THIS BUNCH OF LIARS. IN THE END THE GOVERNOR DID NOT GET WHAT HE WANTED….UNLIMITED TIME FRAME TO REPAY “HIS” DEBTS.
THE VI CODE WILL ALWAYS WITHSTAND ANY ATTACKS FROM THE DE JONGH ADMINISTRATION CORRUPTION MACHINE. ASK DPW COMMISSIONER SMALLS. HIS DOORS GOT KICKED DOWN YESTERDAY AT DPW. FEDERAL INVESTIGATORS WILL BE KICKING DOORS DOWN UNTIL JUSTICE IS SERVED. DE JONGH AND ALL OF HIS CRONIES ARE GOING TO JAIL.
STAY TUNE!
CIF,
Maybe it is my computer, but my recent attempts to match “comments” with their “post numbers” has resulted in the incorrect alignment of the two.
Example: My reference of the “comments” by MOUTH WITHOUT A MUZZLE with its “post number.”
No, it’s probably not your computer. I’m seeing posts suddenly appear in mid-stream and others simply vanish.

THERE WAS A CLEAR REASON WHY THE ABOVE VI CODE ON PERJURY AND TESTIFYING BEFORE THE LEGISLATURE WAS POSTED.(SEE BLOG 86 ABOVE)
DURING TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2009, SPECIAL SESSION HEARING REQUESTED BY GOVERNOR JOHN P. DE JONGH, JR., HIS MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET DIRECTOR, DEBRA GOTTLIEB, WAS SPECIFICALLY ASKED HAD “SHE” EVER RE APPROPRIATED FUNDS FROM ONE DEPARTMENT TO THE OTHER WITHOUT SENATE APPROVAL. MS. GOTTLIEB RESPONDED “NO”. (SEE BLOG 79 ABOVE)
MS. GOTTLIEB IS NOW IN VERY BIG TROUBLE FOR HER FALSE TESTIMONY. INFORMATION IS BEGINNING TO SURFACE TO PROVE THAT DEBRA GOTTLEIB DID IN FACT TRANSFER MONIES FROM ONE DEPARTMENT TO THE OTHER WITHOUT SENATE APPROVAL. SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS P. HILL WILL TRY TO DO DAMAGE CONTROL ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNOR AND GET AMENDMENTS PASS THAT WILL COVER THOSE TRANSACTIONS THAT MS. GOTTLIEB EXECUTED WITHOUT SENATE APPROVAL. THIS REVELATION WAS ALSO MENTIONED THIS MORNING ON JIMMY O’BRYAN RADIO TALK SHOW.
THIS MOVE BY THE GOVERNOR AND SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS P. HILL WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE THE DAMAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE. THE VI CODE IS CLEAR WHEN IT COMES TO TESTIFYING BEFORE THE SENATE AND PROVIDING FALSE TESTIMONY. THE VI CODE IS ALSO CLEAR WHEN IT COMES TO VIOLATING THE LAW AND CONSPIRACY TO SUPPRESS JUSTICE.
THE VIRGIN ISLANDS COMMUNITY AND ALONG WITH THE DOI INSPECTOR GENERAL INSPECTORS ARE WATCHING THIS SITUATION CLOSELY TO SEE WHAT ACTIONS SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS P. HILL WILL TAKE TO PURSUE THIS PERJURY MATTER AGAINST THE DE JONGH ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET DIRECTOR.
SEE UP COMING SENATE HEARINGS FOR TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2009.

THE VI CODE IS CLEAR ON PERJURY AND CONSPIRACY. NOW IT’S SENATOR HILL’S MOVE TO SEE HOW FAR “HE” IS WILLING TO GO IN VIOLATING THE VI CODE. THE GOVERNOR FINANCIAL TEAM DID NOT WALK OUT OF THE SENATE HEARINGS ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2009, IN FEAR OF VIOLATING THE VI CODE. INSTEAD PERJURY WAS COMMITTED.
THE WORLD IS WATCHING YOU SENATE PRESIDENT HILL. IT’S YOUR MOVE.

“CREATE A PROBLEM PROPOSE AN SOLUTION”
I am so proud of my boys. I saw them on the waterfront by the seaplane this morning taking pictures of the black SUV from Government House GO-13 that is driven by the communications director. I believe they must be closing in on him to charge him with lying and want to be able to pick him up when done. The feds are coming to save us Thanks be to the ALmighty.

HAS THE DE JONGH ADMINISTRATION FINANCIAL TEAM BEEN COMING STRAIGHT WITH THE VIRGIN ISLANDS LEGISLATURE? IS THE FINANCIAL TEAM CONCEALING INFORMATION FROM THE SENATE? WAS THE FINANCIAL INFORMATION AT THIS LINK REPORTED DURING THE GOVERNOR SPECIAL SESSION HEARING?
LOOK AT LINK. WE WILL SEE WHAT WILL COME OF THIS INFORMATION DURING THIS COMING TUESDAY SENATE HEARINGS.

Back to Nathan Simmonds: Didn’t that man kill someone and get away “Scott Free” because his sister was Attorney General?
It’s official, Verdell Petersen is a JACKASS.
Verdell just won the DEMMANSAY.COM JACKASS of the Week prestigious award. Verdell joins a very impressive list of JACKASSES.
Congrats Verdell from all of the bloggers on CIF, you deserve it!
IT’S THE DAWN OF THE SENATE SHOW DOWN BETWEEN THE OBAMA JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, THE DE JONGH ADMINISTRATION, AND VIRGIN ISLANDS 28TH LEGISLATURE SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS P. HILL.
THE WORLD AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS WATCHING TO SEE IF SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS P. HILL WILL MOVE FORWARD AND ATTEMPT TO OBSTRUCT JUSTICE BY SPONSORING LEGISLATION TO MODIFY THE VI CODE ON BEHALF OF GOVERNOR JOHN P. DE JONGH, JR.
IF SENATOR LOUIS P. HILL ATTEMPTS TO OBSTRUCT JUSTICE IN THE UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS LEGISLATURE THIS WILL BE AN UNPRECEDENTED MOMENT IN VIRGIN ISLANDS HISTORY. BOTH GOVERNOR JOHN P. DE JONGH, JR. AND SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS P. HILL IS UNDER FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATION FOR CORRUPTION.
SENATORS OF THE 28TH LEGISLATURE WILL BE CLOSELY MONITORED TO SEE WHO WILL ALIGN THEMSELVES WITH SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS P. HILL DURING THIS UNPRECEDENTED MOMENT IN VIRGIN ISLANDS HISTORY. USING THE VIRGIN ISLANDS COMMUNITY AS AN EXCUSED TO GO INTO THE SENATE CHAMBERS TOMORROW AND YELL TO THE TOP OF YOUR VOICES WHY THE VI CODE SHOULD BE MODIFY ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNOR WILL NOT WORK. THE EXCUSE THAT IT’S BECAUSE OF AN INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC CRISIS WHY THE VI CODE SHOULD BE MODIFIED WILL ALSO “NOT” WORK. SENATE PRESIDENT HILL IS “REQUIRED” TO BRING “PERJURY” CHARGES AGAINST “DEBRA GOTTLIEB” FOR PROVIDING FALSE TESTIMONY TO THE SENATE WHILE UNDER OATH.
THE WORLD IS WAITING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS AT TOMORROW SENATE HEARING.
