It’s Just Another Million …

August 22, 2009

When a last minute amendment proposed hiking the 28th Legislature’s budget by a million dollars for unspecified “infrastructure repairs and upgrades,” Sen. Adlah “Foncie” Donastorg wanted to know why.

The request was part of an amendment submitted by Senators Michael Thurland and Sammuel Sanes, but provided no detail on how the funds would be used.

“My fellow senators and the people of the Virgin Islands need much greater details before handing over another $1 million to this body,” Donastorg said. “What are these repairs and upgrades – more wood paneling for the Legislature’s entrance?”

Maybe the Legislature is taking its cue from the Executive Branch. After all, home improvement seems to be the thing these days…

The difference between President Obama and Gov. deJough is that Pres. Obama has been in office for only 8 months, and has accomplished alot in a short amount of time. If the American people gave him at least 2 more to see what happens, we might see the economy rebounding again. Governor deJough, on the other hand, is going into his third year, and his policies have created so much controversy. Also, he is supposed to run for re-election next year, so time isn’t exactly on his side.

    Pandora,

I thought I was clear. But I’ll write it again. The Governor IS looking ahead and going forward. At the same time there is a lot of debris left over that must be dealt with. So he is doing at least two things at once.

Faced with the situations that plague our islands, his job (like many others) is two steps forward, one step back. It’s slow going.

Bull Foot Soup, come better next time. You and the other spinners up there in Government House really believe people out here are stupid. I’ll admit, you had me fooled at first, but I’ve seen right through the BS. Why not try to “Keep It Balanced”.

    Bull Foot Soup,

Since you have such intimate knowledge as to what the Governor IS doing can you please tell the rest of us plebians when he IS going to address the concerns of the electorate regarding the monies spent to improve his private property?

Then, after you tell us that, would you please elaborate further on EXACTLY how our Governor IS looking ahead and going forward?

    Thank you.

Mehson, I wish I was with Government house. I could use a new SUV.

Serously, I’m ok where I am. I’m as far away from the government as you can ever imagine. The only time I deal with the government is getting my car registered and paying taxes.

No, we’re exposing a fraud. I noticed how you ran out of steam on the homeless issue and tried to bail out saying no one was interested. That was my first hint. There’s been much more since, but I won’t clue you into your own mistakes. Bottom line is, Keep It Balanced!

Busted, everyone ran out of steam on the homeless. If it’s still running somewhere, please point me in the direction. It remains as much of a concern of mine as it always was. Yours too, I suspect.

If I remember correctly, the interested persons on the homeless subject were hoping to convene in person somewhere in either September or October. The exact where or when or how was left open at the time.

Nice try BFS. You know exactly what I’m talking about. But in case you forgot, the post is still on this website for you to read all the comments again. Keep trying to spin this, but you’re doing the same thing that you and the other spinners for the administration do…spin yourselves a deep hole. Keep It Balanced!

Busted, the homeless post is archived, the last post was 8/11, and it was mine. What are you talking about?

  13. Busted on August 31, 2009 at 1:58 pm

I’m done with the back and forth BFS. All I will tell you is to “Keep It Balanced”. I know you know exactly where I’m coming from. And by the way, tell Governor deJongh hello for me. Over and out!

    BLS, what’s up WACKO GRAIGO?

Wise decision, Busted. Give it a rest.

We can fuss and argue all we want, but we need to keep thing in perspective. Gov. John P. de Jongh Jr. and Pres. Barack H. Obama are two different people with different experiences and different personality. To compare the two is like trying to compare an apple to an orange.
