Word has come to us that pressure is boiling in the Legislature’s kitchen. Senators Hill, Dowe and White appear to be furious that Senator Neville James posted the “Mafoliegate” documents on the Legislature’s website. As Senator James previously stated, the Governor’s actions are indefensible! It’s time for all Senators to accept this fact. It’s time to restore some integrity to the so called first branch of government. Senator, as Mario Moorehead would say, “your back broad.” Now prove it to your constituents. Push for a hearing. Stand firm!

FRAZER APPROVED AS TO LEGAL SUFFICIENCY AT THE VIRGIN ISLANDS DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, THE CONTRACT WITH THE GOVERNOR AND WILLIAM KOENIG WHICH RESULTED IN THE DISBURSEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS TO A KNOWN EX CONVICT.

TITLE FOURTEEN Crimes
§ 1662. Embezzlement or falsification of public accounts
Whoever, being a public officer or person charged with the receipts, safekeeping, transfer or disbursement of public monies—
(1) appropriates the same, or any portion thereof to his own use or the use of another, without authority of law;
(2) fails to keep the same in his possession until disbursed or paid out by authority of law;
shall be fined not more than ten thousand ($10,000) dollars or imprisoned not more than ten (10) years, or both, and shall be disqualified from holding any public office.
§ 1664. False certificates by public officers
Whoever, being a public officer authorized by law to make or give any certificate or writing, makes and delivers as true any such certificate or writing containing statements which he knows to be false, shall be fined not more than $500 or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.
Oh they’re furious are they? That’s rich.
Furious about what? That the documents they’ve denied are now there, on their own website, for the world to see?
Furious because they can no longer pretend that this is just some fantasy created by the malcontents to defame the exalted Chief Executive?
I think not.
I think they’re furious because they’ve run out of places to hide and even the most ardent Administration supporters are gonna have one heck of a time explaining this.
But if I were the Senate President, I’d spend less time trying to delay the inevitable course of this investigation, and more time preparing for my own. As for the other two, isn’t it time to jump off this sinking ship?

Chapter 75 Obstruction of Justice
§ 1508. Interfering with officer discharging his duty
Whoever willfully resists, delays or obstructs any public officer in the discharge, or attempt to discharge any duty of his office, shall, when no other punishment is prescribed by this title, be fined not more than $500 or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
§ 1509. Interfering with property in custody of an officer
Whoever willfully injures, destroys or takes from the custody of any officer or person, any personal property which such officer or person has in charge under any process of law, shall be fined not more than $200 or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
§ 1510. Retaliating against or threatening a witness
(a) Whoever—
(1) uses force, threat, or intimidation against any person called or to be called as a witness at any trial, proceeding, inquiry or investigation authorized by law relating to a felony (as defined in section 2 of this title), with intent to influence or prevent the testimony of such person or in retaliation for any testimony given, or any record, document or other object produced by such person; or
(2) uses force, threat, or intimidation against any person who provides information relating to a felony (as defined in section 2 of this title), to a law enforcement officer or other employee of the local or federal government who is responsible for investigating or prosecuting offenses—
shall be fined not more than $2,000, or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.
(b) Whoever—
(1) uses force, threat, or intimidation against any person called or to be called as a witness at any trial, proceeding, inquiry or investigation authorized by law relating to a misdemeanor (as defined in section 2 of this title), with intent to influence or prevent the testimony of such person or in retaliation for any testimony given, or any record, document or other object produced by such person; or

Sen. James, if you are reading this, I am asking that whatever you do, don’t give up. The reason some of your fellow senators are upset with is because they knew that what they are doing is illegal. Now, they are being exposed. Like the entry said, STAND FIRM!!!
Has anyone noticed that the Governor changed his website and now much of the soundbytes, press releases and contracts are no longer there? Performing a search using the website’s search box brings up broken links. Even the Governor’s prized Diageo contract is no longer there. Are they hiding something? You better believe it. Stay tuned!
