St. Thomas CZM panel OKs permit for East End condo project By LYNN FREEHILL Wednesday, August 29th 2007

ST. THOMAS – After its developers set aside land as habitat for the endangered Virgin Islands tree boa and agreed to take other environmental protection measures, an upscale condominium complex can proceed along East End coastline.

Dolphin Cove, a 104-unit project off Ridge Road in Estate Nazareth, unanimously received permit approval Tuesday from the St. Thomas Coastal Zone Management Committee.

Plans call for the vacation-home units, which will range between $800,000 and $2.5 million in price, to be spread among 32 duplex buildings, four single-family bungalows and four three-story condominium buildings.
A tennis court, three swimming pools, a reverse osmosis plant, a wastewater treatment plant, 147 parking spaces and a 7,000-square-foot community center also have been designed for the 22 1/2-acre site.

Project representatives raised a post to the height that the building would stand, proving that it would be shorter than existing trees there, project manager MANFRED SOEFFING said.

Following the committee’s vote, project designer Robert deJongh said the developers are proud of their plans and agreeable to complying with CZM’s environmental-protection requirements.

BOTH SENATE PRESIDENT LOUIS PATRICK HILL AND FORMER SENATOR ROOSEVELT DAVID SERVED TOGETHER IN 2005 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS.

SENATE PRESIDENT HILL SOME HOW BELIEVES THAT IF ROOSEVELT DAVID GOT AWAY WITH ENRICHING HIMSELF OFF OF THE BACKS OF VIRGIN ISLANDERS SO CAN HE.

    WRONG ANSWER.

THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR’S INSPECTOR GENERAL INVESTIGATION TEAM WILL BE TAKING A LOOK AT THIS MOST RECENT DEVELOPMENT ALONG WITH THE FBI. THERE IS NO STATUE OF LIMITATION FOR ACTS AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF A UNITED STATES.

GOD BLESS UNITED STATES PRESIDENT BARRACK OBAMA FOR HIS LEADERSHIP IN ENSURING THAT THESE BANDITS WILL BE BROUGHT BEFORE JUSTICE FOR THEIR SELFISH ACTS AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS

Based on Virgin Islands Law all government officials making over $40,000 annually shall file a financial disclosure for Conflict of Interest. Did our Senate President include in his financial disclosure this interest he has in a foreign corporation? Is he not doing business with the owner of a corporation he assisted in getting a permit through CZM? Is this really something the Federal Government should be looking into? Has his collegues demanded an explanation? What will Neville as majority leader do with these recent accusitions? Will he investigate them? From all accounts it appears nothing will be done. The Governor must be laughing at the Senators just about now. But I don’t think he should be chuckling just to quick because Mafoligate is very much an issue. Senators Hill, Dowe and White should be really concern.

Colette, be careful… you are getting close to solving a unresolved case that happened in 2007. The victim was responsible for investigating public complaints. The CZM permit in question was a hot issue for this company and there were public complaints about this permit. Check the time lines and when the permit was finally granted. Your inching closer.

Anonymous, I think everyone can read between the lines. Interesting how all this stuff started surfacing after the recent reorganization. I wonder what will pop up if an audit takes place.

I just watched the youtube video posted by Crime Buster. How can the governor make a pledge of fighting corruption in the VI, while some of the decisions that he make as a gov’t official are questionable at best? For a man who tends to use the media to promote himself, he has been quiet on a lot of issues!

I sure hope Hill is indicted for his off shore interests as well as his corruption in the 28th legislature!
