Note To Our Readers
It’s election time so it’s time to repeat this message to our bloggers.
And the message is simple:
Comments that include name calling, profanity, references to personal relationships (real or imagined), sexual activities or orientation, undocumented criminal activity and other behavior of individuals that is unrelated to the topic being addressed will be removed from the site.
The volume and quality of most of the comments posted here are stellar – clear, direct and on point. It’s the kind of interactive discussion we value above all else.
But if a comment crosses the line – and if you’ve been here for a while you know that line is extremely flexible – then it will be pulled.
The purpose of this website is to keep Virgin Islanders informed on topics that affect us, and to provide a forum for discussion on those topics. All views are welcome, provided they address the topic at hand, and spirited disagreement is encouraged.
Some will call this censorship – and we are prepared for that. That is not our intent. It is our hope that the majority of our readers understand that to maintain the credibility of the site as a fact-based destination for information and credible commentary, some controls must be in place.
Carry on.
Thank you.
The Administrators at Cruciansinfocus.com

Verdel, in comment #39, you are missing a comma after “…the truth is an offense” and before ” and who the cap…”
Ms. Petersen,
I think the moderators of this site have been very clear on what’s appropriate and what isn’t. And, if I recall correctly, it was one of your comments concerning a former governor that was one of the first that was removed for its vulgarity. So I tend to doubt your statement “As I always play by the rules.” And if you really don’t know whether “witch” or that other word you referred to is more appropriate, then God save the children you teach.
One more thing – it’s not about perfect grammar or syntax in the comments posted here. It’s about the thoughts and ideas Virgin Islanders have about what’s happening around them.
There’s a whole bunch of educated fools out there who can capture the form but have no substance.
Now I’m quite sure you’re composing some pithy (look it up) response and feel free to post it. But I shall not respond to you again.
I applaud this forum and am grateful we have a place to air views that get no attention in any of the mainstream media.
Keep it up, CIF.
Well said, Clock!
Verdel,
The last sentence in the first paragraph is a compound sentence. Your coordinating conjunction(and) is missing a comma.
Jokes People. Whole heep o’ jokes.
More jokes for Verdel,
In the first sentence of the first paragraph, you have omitted the present-perfect tense (have) between the words (I) and (always.)
Once more, in the first sentence of the third paragraph, you have omitted the present-perfect tense (have) between the words (I) and (always.)
You can not miss it. It is the introductory phrase, a prepositional phrase to be exact because it begins with the preposition, as, and ends with the plural noun, rules.
Teacher Verdel, come test meh noh!
Verdel, you made a fool of yourself.
You all took the bait. I am proud of your responses.
Let’s be critical, but give constructive criticism.
It is so easy to find faults and make personal attacks. How interested are you in joining the literacy task force? There are many other posts on this site that need to be corrected. We could begin with the drafted constitution. How many grammatical errors can you spot in this grossly flawed document?
Again, I appreciate your input. Focus more on the message, though, and not be too trigger-happy to shoot the messenger.
go to sleep verdl i just heard you on the radio, tell marcas good night and go sleep
Knowledge is power!
I get a kick out of the reaction to my comments. People are listening. It is great to be able to influence minds and stimulate discussions.
cats rass: Your concern for my well-being is appreciated. My curfew to get into bed is 12 midnight. My husband prefers that I climb into bed before 10 p.m. I need time, though, to do research and read the news.
A scholar needs at least six hours rest to keep the brain cells functioning effectively.
Verdel,
Verdel, you so right. “Knowledge is power!”. Thanks to our good friend U-Turn, the community got POWER!
If the position of this administration’s supporters is that ideas are not welcome unless they are grammatically correct, I will have to conclude that we are in serious trouble. Of course, it’s likely the issue of grammar is nothing more than a distraction.
