While I would have liked to see the award go to someone from less priviliged backgrounds (not the daughter of a principal) I applaud CIF for doing good in the community. Kudos!

I must, however, extend a big congratulation to Crucians In Focus for doing the Scholarship Essay Contest and awarding $5,000.00 to Kurrissa Vialet. Today, with the world’s hard economic crisis that all of us are presently facing, added to the overwhelming expensive cost of a good college education mandates that any assistance our children can get to assist them in their pursuit of higher learning is a plus.

I, therefore, salute Crucians In Focus for their community mindedness in giving back to the community, but more so, in giving to our youths. For our children are our most valued and priceless asset and we as a coomunity must always provide opportunties for them to grow.

Currently, in our community the youth violence and school dropout rates are at an all time high, any and all incentives that we as a community can give to our children in order to encourage them to excel in my book is indeed an added plus.
