Ask, And You Shall Receive
Government House is most distressed at Senator Donastorg’s assertions that public funds have been used inappropriately to renovate Governor John deJongh, Jr.’s private residence.
So distressed, in fact, that Government House Communications Director Jean Greaux was compelled to respond by saying, “If Sen. Donastorg believes that he has evidence that such funds were used then he should do what any citizen of the territory should do when he, or she, believes that the law is being broken, and that is to contact the proper legal authorities, such as the attorney general or the inspector general, and present that evidence.”
Well ask and you shall receive.

It would have been more impressive if Foncie “DUNCIE” had actually written the letter.
does any senator write their own letters?
A.L.
First of all, I am no fan of Senator Donastorg but is it not obvious you are straying away from the real issue by attacking the Senator on a personal level? So what is your real point? I follow things with a keen view, and from all appearances I get the impression you visit the Dem Man Say website quite often. Duncie was used quite often on that site and it now appears you are bringing it into this forum as well. Or just maybe, this is another attempt of the Callwood family on the attack of someone who is simply bring something to the attention of the public. The Callwoods sure have a dislike for this Senator and its now becoming more and more apparent. I prefer to comment on the merit of issues and cannot allowed to be distracted by this kind of petty politics. Shame on your guys.
Honestly, I don’t see the need for the name calling when it comes to any of our officials.
Donostorg was smart enough to figure out what Prosser was up to and smart enough to place a premium on our environment when everyone else has been selling us out. A.L. you sound like a hater to me.
It’s a shame because all of the unions can not get to the table and some of the employees are working with expired contracts since 2005. The moral of Government employees is so low and this has push them over the edge.
I sure have heard the diction of Senators Sprauve and Williams and what a disaster. So if we speak of anyone being a dunce…wow.. Donastorg must be sharp. He sure speaks alot better than most of them. By the way, what has happened to Senator Sprauve? Did he ever respond to the issue of paying his campaign debt? I guess it must be true. Or did King of the Hill approve such payments. He remains too quiet these days. Come out..come out…where ever you are Senator Patrick “Slick” Sprauve.
On the topic of whether improvements to the governor’s private property are appropriate or not, I am amazed that some people are expressing that they “have no problem” with public funds being used. Maybe basic security needs can be justified, but this is extravagance! If spending PFA $ in this fashion is legal, why did the governor’s PR person (Mr. Greaux) deny the whole thing?
The people with no problem need to put down the Kool-aid.
What kind of security does an $11k stonework facade give you on a gatehouse.
Why do we continue to get hung up on the messenger and not on the message. Public funds should not be spent on anything more than basic security at ANY governor’s personal residence. Why should we care who brings it to light? It is OUR money being MISSPENT!!!! That’s the bottom line
Did the Callwood family write Blakie’s song about Sen. Donastorg years ago?
Speaking about senators and their diction, I know you have been hearing Senator N. James, don’t talk about big mouth white, and senator W.James, they need a lesson in how to speak on the floor or in an audience verses with the boy on the corner. I don’t mean yanking ( but just speak properly on the floor it is being televised all over the world and i can see some people saying ” What is her saying? When it comes to proper speaking I give all respect to the following Senators first U. Richards,
A. Donastorg, C. Barsinger, and C. Dowe. The Senator from St. Croix M. Thurland I refer to him as the arm, arm, senator because he doesn’t seems to speak properly, if he say 10 words 6 of them it arms, I not now kidding listen to him and you will see. I have always believe in speaking properly.
Speaking of the senate who is the person in the legislature that foncie spoke about that got a $15,000,00 raise through hill. Why are the senators afraid of the audit how come they are requesting information from persons that come before them and they seems to have a problem with having an audit done. Sooner or later is will be done and we WILL find out all the dirt, I ‘m still waiting for Sprauve to speak about that bill, was is paid by the so call senate president?
See, this is why we don’t trust the senators and we have nobody to blame we keep putting in the same old crooks, but i have a good feeling that next year we WILL be seeing new faces in the senate.
Everyone reading this website needs to call or write the daily news, the Source and the avis and ask why they are not covering these stories.
Foncie has convinced me that he could govern these islands which we call home.I voted for deJongh in 06 but i would not make that mistake ever again , nothing like what i expected from this Administration. Donastorg 2010
Crucian in west, I remember the first Donastorg ran I spoke with him and congratulated him and I told him to keep his himself above board on all matters! To this date he hasn’t disappointed me this is why we need DONASTORG IN 2010, hope to see and hear from MORE dejongh
supporters who disn’t get the job they expected or was passed over! Hope to see all of you at the begining of the campaign. I remember when dejohn was running one of his promise was that we will be able to come to government house , but you can’t even pass the guard much less LOUIS PENN!!!!!
This is getting interesting. maybe one day our sellout media will gain interest in this story. If it was a senator or Previous governor, it would have been front page headlines. It’s sad what our media has come to. I expected this from the Source, but the Pulitzer Prize winner, with all their investigative reporters who exposed the Schneider Regional fiasco, is surprising me with their obvious bias. The Avis simply baffles me beyond belief especally considering all the Epstein reporting we saw in the last gubernatorial election. My how times have changed. LOL!
Last night I was watching the senate hearing on the union, namely Tito Morales, and the discussion was centered around persons coming from the mainland and other neighboring islands and getting jobs the next day.
Senator Nelson mentioned that we have nobody to blame but ourselves because the department of Labor is suppose to monitor the situation, but what about the government employees, like the NOW government employee who moved form main street in a store to government house, how are the persons where she is working suppose to feel? I guess tito and other union leaders turn their heads to that. So i can understand why he is crying now when persons coming from the mainland and are getting jobs the next day. Then when persons retire from positions instead of moving up they bring in the groonies who doesn’t know the jib and paying them more money.
I agree with Jane in regards to people not getting promoted in Government when higher positions become available. This is unfortunate and it causes great problems in the work place. Employees then develop a don’t care attitude and stop applying themselves. I don’t think that a person working in any office wants to spend the rest of their career working in a position without the opportunity for advancement, especiallly if they have the experience and qualify for that higher position. In my opinion, unions are being paid for nothing.
I thought that there was supposed to be a change in what kind of crtical opinions would be allowed on this site. It’s only been 2 weeks and this farce of a forum continues to be the same name-calling internet locale on Virgin Islands politics. Tasteless and offensive out the door? Whatever.
Anonymous,
you still here? For someone who so bitterly complains about this site it seems that you cannot peel yourself away.
