Comfort In Times Of Discomfort

April 25, 2009

We are hoping Senator Barshinger can let us know what his priorities are. If the current fleet of Legislature vehicles are too costly to maintain, our senators should consider mileage allowance in these challenging times. The funds they would spend on these cars could go towards many other critical needs that our current revenues are unable to cover. Get your priorities straight Senator Barshinger.

Where is the “EVIDENCE” and the “PIERCING NEEDLE OF FACT”? Ouch!!! Show me ONE shread of evidence that (based on what has been shown) the “contemplation” of purchasing new cars is there.

  2. Craig Barshinger on May 24, 2009 at 7:56 pm

No car purchase proposal was ever submitted for approval (or even for discussion) to Senator Donastorg when he was president. My office provided a copy of the base document that appears attached to this forum to Donastorg’s office. It was then modified. Can anyone see how it was falsified? (I’ll put the answer on barshinger.net in a few weeks, it needs updated.)

I know hate when I see hate. This site is all about hate and not about solutions. This tactic of threatening elected officials is played out, in particular when it comes from a site controlled by Michael “The Loser” Springer. Get a job Springer. Nobody likes you. You could be indicted any day now for all that you’ve in the past and is still doing today.

I find it rather distastful that Craig Bassinger assigning staff to post notes attracking Mr. Springer. A site that allows for people to see the truth and comment on the truth, he is being berated because it does not suit their appetite. Shame on Neville, Thurland, and Bassinger who continue to have some stooges launch attacks on Mr. Springer. I have one question; anyone knows where Senator Bassinger lived before he came to the Virgin Islands? You would be surprise. With time all this will come to light. And Craig, my brother works for Caribbean Auto Mart so be quite careful when you post what you consider to be a “not modified document”. You have already demonstrated you are a theif and it did not just start with electricity or when you broke into Gertrude’s. I think you should start confessing before it’s to late. Your distant past can really come back to haunt you, and it the worst way. More to come….

The only thing that neville james spends most of his time doing is betting money @ the race tack every day when he should be doing the peoples work, I know for a fact cause I work there as a cashier.

“Intelligent local” continue to make it personal and I’ll ban you personally from this website.

It does not matter what Senate Craig Barshinger has just recently posted on this site.

He and his majority are concocting ways of justifying the purchasing of new cars.

Just as chicken hatch eggs, so the Majority will soon hatch a scheme.

Knowing him, he will use the “go-green” angle. He will state that the current fleet is not fuel-efficient and therefore the Legislature is in need of a fleet that is fuel-efficient.

He and his Majority may further justify the new-fleet acquisition for two reasons: (1) the funding could come from the President’s Economic Stimulus Package and (2) it will infuse new money into the economy.

The majority at the Legislature is simply obsessed with the notion of driving new cars just as kids at Christmas are obsessed with the notion of playing with new toys.

In the final analysis, their child-like… will
evolve to God-like… and they will proclaim, “LET US” purchase FOR OURSELVES a hybrid and energy-efficient fleet of brand shinny NEW CARS.

So who’s the true moral conscience for the Virgin Islands? I love it. The jokes never stop.

Can not believe the Majority voted against an audit of the Legislature yesterday. Anyone know why this wasn’t in the newspapers?

  11. Sojourner Truth on May 29, 2009 at 11:05 am

I would like to know the EXACT same thing. Why have our newspapers ignored this story? It’s not even on the Source. Very interesting also that Louis Patrick Hill stated in his press conference that he supported such an audit and then votes AGAINST it. Me thinks he speaks with FORKED TONGUE!

  12. Pandora on May 29, 2009 at 4:04 pm

There are 2 problems here: one is the lack of transparency in our Legislators refusal to account for how they appropriate public funds. The second problem, and equally as scary, is the media not reporting about it. Who is controlling the media?

  13. Pandora on May 29, 2009 at 4:11 pm

One more thing: I certainly will not vote for one single member of this majority from the STT/STJ district.

  14. Intelligent Local on May 30, 2009 at 12:32 am

Maybe they (the media)know when to ignore something that is nothing more than hot air from a seantor who’s claim to fame is pointing fingers at everybody else but himself.

  15. Pandora on May 30, 2009 at 6:33 am

Dear Local – that doesn’t sound too Intelligent. That vote was split right down the line of the Majority/Minority. Were they all pointing fingers at everybody but himself?

  16. Sojourner Truth on May 30, 2009 at 7:57 am

The government is out of control and self regulating like the banking industry. Lord send help.
It certainly appears we don’t want the truth from our officials. We just want to be told “everything is going to be fine”. Even when we know their lying.
Take another sip of denial juice because we accept the lies as the way our gov’t does business. While the blantant corruption is so sweetly called Virgin Islands Politics. Oh well

  17. EyesWideOpen on May 30, 2009 at 10:23 am

You have to give it to the Senate President, Honorable Senator Hill.

He and a majority of his fellow senators did it in broad daylight, right in front of our faces: They voted against a FULL AUDIT of the Legislature.

They do not have any fear of consequences: it is we from where they came; it is we who voted for them; and it is us whom they reflect.

Our government’s services and operation(s) may be third-rate, but our community’s tolerance for corruption is first-rate.

Our local government is so festering with widespread corruption that the only solution seems to be a complete federal takeover.

    I am simply outraged.
