Just the other day, two nominees had to withdraw their names from nomination before the Senate. What kind of standards do we promote here in the Virgin Islands? Senator James is just the wrong type of person in office. He may do anything to secure a way of paying his taxes. Is he not even more vuneralble that the rest? What a mistake. Was it not Senator Hansen and others who tried to defraud the Government? I just spoke with a Ava Penn, Former Director of Business Office for the Legislature, and she indicated Senator Sprauve had attempted this in the last legislature and when not successful he tried to get it by Senator Donastorg. Interesting enough, both Senators Neville James or Patrick Hill have commented on this which makes me feel they condone this time of action. Are they not attempting to conceal information from the public? I can now say, I am not a fan of Senator Donastorg but this may have been a tragic mistake removing him.
