Senators, Do Your Job

August 1, 2008

The Committee to Elect Michael Springer to the Senate has launched their first radio spot starring, believe it or not, a couple sitting senators. This one you have to hear for yourself.

So, What are you running on? No generalities. Focus?!? Yes!

I just listed to Sen. Serville Figueroa’s speech (posted on DemManSay) made to justify his salary increase. This is a slap in the face to the people who voted for him. What makes him so special that he feels that we don’t have the same expenses he listed off? Are all Government employees not paying insurance, retirement, social security and withholding taxes? Do we not have to buy clothes and feed our children. Do you know how many of us have school loans for our selves and even for our children? If I want to drive, I have to pay for a car and if I want a cell, I have to pay for it; you don’t. This is my disposition…you are not the only one who deserves a raise and what qualifies you for a $20,000 raise when I, as a Government employee, have to settle with a $1,000 raise, if that much! Your job is to think of the little man first and then yourself second! What you have forgotten is that it was your choice to run for Senate. As a Senator, you are a “public servant.” That is what you need to focus on!
